Day of Mourning
Every year, nearly 900 Canadians lose their lives as a result of workplace injury or disease. Northerners feel these tragic losses as well. April 28 is set aside as The National Day of Mourning to recognize workers who lost their lives in the workplace.

On Sunday, April 28, the Norther Territories Federation of Labour hosted the Day of Mourning ceremonies at the Legislative Assemblies in Yellowknife and Iqaluit to hounour the workers who died in 2012 in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Working together, we can eliminate workplace disease and injuries.
