Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) - Course Length: Three hours

Learn the three parts of the WHMIS program: 1) Labels, 2) Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and 3) Worker education. This course is suitable for all employers and workers.  (This course does not replace worksite specific training).

Safety Awareness - Course Length: Full day

Changing the assumption 'accidents just happen' to 'accidents are preventable' is the beginning of general safety awareness. The Safety Awareness program informs workers, supervisors, and employers of their rights and responsibilities for a safe workplace. It helps you develop the skills and knowledge necessary to recognize and correct potential workplace hazards.

Incident and Accident Investigation - Course Length: Full day 

The first step to prevent an incident from happening again is to identify its cause.  This course teaches participants the basics of performing incident and accident investigations, and covers the who, what, when, where, and how of incident and accident investigation, including the legal requirements of investigations.  

Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Committees - Course Length: Full day

An OH&S Committee is an integral part of an employer’s efforts to meet his/her legal obligations to provide a safe workplace. This program outlines the steps to create and maintain an active and effective OH&S Committee.

Asbestos Awareness - Course Length: Two full days

Obtain a more in depth understanding of the hazards of asbestos, legislative requirements, control options, abatement levels and more. Modeled after the Alberta Asbestos Worker Certificate Course, this course combines classroom theory and practical workshops. This is a WSCC recognized worker awareness course.
